Match Kundli

About Us

Why we built Match Kundli, and how it works under the hood.

Match Kundli exists to make one specific, traditional process — Vedic Kundli matching for marriage — available to anyone, free, without waiting for an appointment. Ashtakoot Guna Milan has been used by Hindu families and priests for generations to compare two birth charts before a wedding. We built a tool that runs the exact same classical method, instantly, from a browser.

What makes the calculation real

Every chart on Match Kundli is computed from actual planetary positions using Swiss Ephemeris, the same astronomical data professional astrologers and Panchang publishers rely on — not a static lookup table or an approximation. Each person’s Moon sign, Nakshatra (birth star), Ascendant, and Mars placement are calculated from their exact date, time, and place of birth, using sidereal (Lahiri ayanamsa) positions, which is the standard used in Vedic astrology.

From there, the eight Ashtakoot kootas — Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot, and Nadi — are scored using the fixed, traditional rules for each one, along with a separate Mangal Dosha (Manglik) check. Nothing about the astrological rules themselves is generated by AI: the scoring logic is the same set of classical rules a priest would apply by hand, just automated. The only place written language appears is in explaining what a score means, which we write by hand, grounded in traditional interpretation.

Beyond Kundli matching

Match Kundli also includes free daily, weekly, and monthly sun-sign horoscopes, and a Hindu Panchang calendar with tithi, nakshatra, festivals, and auspicious timings for every day of the year — so the same real, traditional data that powers Kundli matching is also available for everyday reference.

A note on what this is — and isn’t

Match Kundli is offered as cultural and traditional guidance. It isn’t a substitute for in-person consultation with a family priest or professional astrologer, and it isn’t a scientific prediction of how a marriage will turn out. See our Terms & Conditions for the full picture, or head to the Kundli matching tool to try it yourself.
